THREE MOBILE TEAMS OF THE PROJECT ON PROGRAM "EXCHANGE 3

 Project of the City Municipality of Palilula, "Strengthening of municipal capacity to improve quality of life for socially vulnerable groups", which is successfully achieved under the program "Exchange 3", early last week got a third mobile team. Socially vulnerable residents of Palilula now can get the necessary information on the use of free services of the project teams, on the info phone 018/244-587 in its Citizens` Offices, or directly contact with the mobile team (1) on the phone 062-407-751, mobile team (2) on the phone 062-407-735 or mobile crew team (3) at 062-407-754.This week, a multidisciplinary mobile teams of the City Municipality of Palilula in full force, will assist the vulnerable elderly and disabled persons and people of third age who are immobile and dependent on assistance at the following locations:

DAMAGE REGISTRATION TO 1ST JULY

 According to preliminary estimates of the Administration of Agriculture and Rural Development, a storm that on Friday 24th June and hit and the city of Nis, spread to about 2,500 to 3,000 hectares of agricultural land. The greatest damage suffered areas of villages Lalinac, Lalinske Pojate, Secanica and Krusce. It is estimated that in these villages in the fields and in greenhouses were destroyed between 70 and 100% of agricultural products. Slightly less damage, which ranges from 20 to 80%, caused in the areas of the villages Mramor, Mramorski Potok, Vrtiste, Popovac, Trupale, Supovac, Mezgraja, Camurlija, Novo Selo and Donji Komren.

SING UP THE BASE!

Office for Youth of the City Municipality of Palilula began with realization of the project "Connecting the SME sector, the Office for Youth and Young." The project is realized within achieving the goals of the Action Plan for Youth Entrepreneurship, which was adopted in the 2010th. About this at the press conference spoke Boban Mikic, member of the Council of City Municipality of Palilula and Stefan Jovic, coordinator of Office for Youth of Palilula Municipality. "Office for Youth Palilula Municipality, is one of the two offices operating in the city, represents a part of the organization of local self government and as such promotes the work with young people and provides support to young people.

THE HAIL STORM HIT THE CROPS

 Wind storm accompanied by hail storm, which last week struck the city of Nis and the surrounding places, caused great damage in the Palilula Municipality. Agricultural crops have been destroyed-wheat, vegetable crops, vineyards, fruit, broken tiles on the roofs of houses, damaged cars. The greatest damage, based on the first findings, suffered the villagers of Lalinac, Lalinske pojate, Mramor and Krusce. On this occasion, the management of City Municipality of Palilula, President of the Assembly Milan Djurdjevic and member of the Council, Milos Stojkovic, visited areas of these places that suffered the most damage. "It is expected that the responsible Commission of the City and Administration of Agriculture immediately assess the damage to this area, to provide that this area could be perceived by measures determined by Government of Serbia - Milan Djurdjevic said.

EAST GATE AND FENCE OF OLD CEMETERY IN GRAFFITI

 Old cemetery was again attacked by vandals. During the night, unknown persons wrote the graffiti on the pillars of the eastern gate of the complex. The effort of management of City Municipality of Palilula, to reconstruct this area into a "memorial park", obviously it is difficult to achieve without the full protection and maintenance.In the presence of Milan Djurdjevic, President of the Municipal Assembly, Milos Stojkovic, a member of the Council and Slavoljub Savic, Head of Municipal Administration Associate of City Municipality of Palilula, journalists could see a very ugly picture and work "wantonly perpetrators".  Residents of Mramor and Krusce, who last week blocked the traffic on the highway Nis-Prokuplje, due to increased activity of landslides and many years of non-resolution of the given promises about restoration of natural disasters, on Wednesday, 22 June 2011, in the morning, also blocked the work of Administration of City Municipality of Palilula.In conversation with the organizers of the strike, President of the Assembly Milan Djurdjevic, pointed to the activities pursued by the management of Palilula Municipality in cooperation with the city to resolve this issue and asked that this form of protest to postpone until the meeting with the Mayor of Nis.

LANDSLIDE IN MARBLE JEOPARDIZED MORE FAMILY 25

 The attached article published in the newspaper Glas javnosti 21 June 2011, NIS - President of Nis City Municipality Palilula Igor Novakovic said that from the state authorities are asked to declare landslide in Mramor as natural disaster and to help people of that place.Due to landslides in Mramor in Palilula Municipality has evicted 14 families whose houses were declared uninhabitable for life, and the state several years over these families pay rent for Housing - recalled Novakovic.This year's spring rains caused a landslide that is back up, and another 25 families are threatened in area Mramor - Krusce.To draw the attention of the authorities, residents of Mramor organized block in recent days on the road to Prokuplje for several hours.

 Hundreds of citizens of Palilula had possibility last weekend, within project “Health Bazaar”, to check its health or get advice. This project of promotion of health and health life styles, which was achieved out of clinics, on the opened area in the yard of Palilula Municipality, in organization of Health Center in Nis and patronage of City Municipality of Palilula, was intended to all citizens of the City, especially working age population of Palilula.

INTERNATIONAL SUMMER ACADEMIC COURSE

 And this summer, from 20 to 30 July, Association of European Students of Technology - BEST Nis organize 4th International summer academic course entitled "Save for tomorrow - Save Tomorrow" ("Save today for a better tomorrow"). This activity of the students was supported and by the Municipality of Palilula.
To the domestic participants are given the opportunity to attend an academic course of educational character, in accordance with the European Transfer Credit System (ETC system). Academic part of the course will consist of at least 18 hours of lectures and 12 hours of practice - case studies, and professional excursions.

 Within project “Strengthening of Municipal capacity to improve the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups” from program Exchange 3, socially – vulnerable residents of the Municipality can get medical assistance, psycho – social assistance but and support of legal assistance and all necessary information about using of free services of mobile teams of this project.
Member of the Council of the City Municipality of Palilula, Zorica Stoiljkovic, visited Verica Tatic (1953), who because of severe disease for a long time is on sick leave, without any income. Her son Zivorad Tatic (1978) who took care of his mother is also sick and is currently in infirmary hospital in Knez Selo.

According to official statistic 5061 person belongs to this category. Number of users of services of some type of social protection is 2245 while number of children with a particular type of disability 23. 23RD SESSION OF ASSEMBLY HELD

 Members of Assembly of the City Municipality of Palilula on its 23rd session , held in the hall of Nis Cultural Center, made a decision on a balance sheet of the Municipality from 2010th and adopt report on the work of the President, Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic and members of Assembly in previous year. According to President Novakovic, numerous realized projects and positive business in 2010th, investments in industrial zone Donje Medjurovo and possibility of employment, it just part of the success of hard work of the management of the City Municipality of Palilula in the previous year. We managed to use potentials of industrial zone Donje Medurovo and to present that on appropriate way to business public.

 NIS – Already five years 15 families from Nis` settlement Mramor live in tenancy status, with rent that pay them City Municipality of Palilula to which they belong. In their houses they can not go beck, because landslide were collapsed and made dangerous for living.  President of the Assembly of the City Municipality of Palilula Milan Djurdjevic and member of the Council Milos Stojkovic, handed SIXTH equipped bicycle, for collecting of recyclables, to the six members family of DAUT RAMADANOVIC, who existence of its family provide by collecting materials of metal and paper. Daut lives on Ledena Stena in the Street Dimitrija Tucovica 97, in bad condition with his wife and four minor children. Within project “Strengthening of Municipal capacity to improve the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups”, from program Exchange 3, City Municipality of Palilula, this week will grant sixth bicycle with bucket for collecting raw materials, to the most vulnerable persons of Roma population.

 South Korea`s company “Yura” opened in the work zone Donje Medjurovo of the City Municipality of Palilula, factory, second in Serbia, where it will be employed 1500 workers.
For this investment totals 15 million euros, “Yura” is through Ministry of Economy and Regional Development received subsidies from the budget of the Serbia of 10, 5 million euros, or 7.000 euros per new created job.
To the opening of the factory “Yura” in Nis attended President of Serbia Boris Tadic, Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric and leader of United Regions of Serbia Mladjan Dinkic, management of the City of Nis, City Municipality of Palilula and numerous guests. President of Serbia Boris Tadic said that the overall business environment must be constantly improve and that the business climate must be improved, to attract new investors.

 President of City Municipality of Palilula Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic visited residents of Mramor, who because of increased activity of landslide and not solving of made promises about rehabilitation of natural disasters, blocked regional road Nis – Prokuplje. In conversation with organizers of the strike, President Novakovic informed the participants with activities which management of Palilula Municipality realize in cooperation with the city, on the solving of this problem and asked them to stop with blockade.“From this problem can not escape. I am here with you to solve problem together, which it is not only yours. For solving of this natural disaster – result of landslide in Mramor and Krusce, I expect that Government of Serbia, as and in similar situation, offer a specific solution.  Forth bicycle with a basket for collecting secondary raw materials, which on the proposal of Roma NGO Center for Active Communication awards City Municipality of Palilula to the most threatened people of Roma population, submitted to Goran Mitev in the settlement Crvena Zvezda. Previous month was distributed three bicycles. To the Goran Mitev, who is disabled person and user of social assistance, bicycle handed President of the Assembly of City Municipality of Palilula, Milan Djurdjevic and member of the Council Milos Stojkovic. According to Djurdjevic, this gesture has social component and provides that persons who collects waste on the territory of Palilula Municipality, do that on modern way, without pollution of environment .

OUR BIG CLEANING

 With national action “BIG CLEANING OF SERBIA - Clean up Serbia” which is a part of planetary campaign Clean up the World and Nis it was celebrated June 5th – Worlds Day of Environment.According to City headquarter of the campaign, in the activities of cleaning participated about 8000 volunteers on over 50 locations where was removed about 40 tons of garbage. In this year activity participated and employees in city and municipality administrations, public – utility enterprises, members of Army or Serbia, employees in private companies, members of NGO. To the work activities of cleaning joined and students of numerous faculties as and students of elementary and secondary schools, who cleaned around its schools and park surfaces. Among volunteers was and residents of housing, who organized cleaned its yards and inter-space.

SPIRIT OF MODERN PALILULA

 And this year, within celebration of City of Nis “Saint Emperor Constantine and Helen” it was held manifestation “Palilula night 2011”. Thousands of people from Nis gathered on the Palilula ramp that by tradition celebrate this day, with manifestation which by years promoted traditional values of gathering and socializing in “former bazaar”.After striking up the national anthem performed by Military orchestra Nis – to the gathered citizens spoke, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej. “Today it is great day for our temple and for whole city, which is symbol of faith and freedom of existence. Let is happy celebration of our city where was born “Emperor Constantine” and celebration of our temple, said His Holiness Irinej. With wish to gather more often like this, to honor our greats, to look up to their life and to pursue their life, Serbian Patriarch wished to the citizens, to live in happiness and love”.

STARTED WIRELESS SIGNALING SYSTEM IN PALILULA

 At the crossroad next Palilula ramp, President of City Municipality of Palilula, Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, put in operation a wireless signaling system which will greatly make easy traffic in this part of the city. This project it is work of students of Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Nis who designed this system within program “Partnership for Education and Development of Community” supported and financed by company “Philip Morris”. Students says that it was hard working on this project, especially on the installations of whole system, which in last two weeks conducted in cooperation with PUE “Gorica” and ED “Jugoistok”. In the presence of project team, mentor of the project, docent Dr Zoran Djurdjevic, Secretary of Assembly Ivan Jovanovic, Head of Municipal Administration Bojan Ilic, representatives of competent Administration of the City and public-utility enterprises it was demonstrated mode of this system.
